In Keith McCafferty’s debut novel, The Royal Wulff Murders, the body of a young man is reeled in on the Madison with
a Royal Wulff fly stuck through his lip and a stick jammed into his
eye. It’s an unusual, but easily explained drowning. Or so many
would like to think. Hyalite County sheriff, Martha Ettinger,
suspects foul play, and as she follows her instincts, she soon finds
herself crossing paths with a Montana newcomer—fly-fisher, painter
and former small time private detective, Sean Stranahan.
