Author Talk with Ednor Therriault

Wednesday, January 15, 2020 - 6:00pm

We're delighted to welcome back Ednor Therriault to share his new book Seven Montanas. While Montanans share a few attitudes and love of the land that attracts them to Big Sky country, it's the differences between the regions that truly give the state its unique flavor. Through interviews, photos, history and personal observations, author Ednor Therriault profiles each region and in the process gives a more complete view of the state as a whole. Along the way the reader will learn why some people choose to live where they do, how they view the rest of the state, and what some of the factors are that give each region its singularity.

More about Seven Montanas

It’s said that Montana is so big and eclectic, it could be sliced up into several smaller states. Seven Montanas examines some lesser-known stories from every region of the state, exploring not only the contrasts between the different areas, but also the shared issues that bring us together.

More about Ednor Therriault

When it comes to exploring Montana, Ednor Therriault is like a dog with a bone. He’s spent the last couple of decades combing the state from Alzada to the Yaak, from the Baaken to the Bob. He’s part journalist, part humorist, and part photographer, viewing the world through a unique lens and finding the beauty and humor in all the interesting stories that hover around the edges of the well-known. A Montana resident since 1993, Ednor grew up a military brat, and has lived in 32 different homes, from Hawaii to Florida and several places in between. His Montana roots finally drew him to his current home in Missoula, where he lives with his wife Shannon. His adult kids, Hudson and Sophie, are musicians and writers like their dad, and they share his affection for the Big Sky state.
