National Park Service seasonal ranger Steve Adelson will be speaking to interested
attendees on the legendary Battle of the Little Bighorn where George Armstrong
Custer and 647 troops attacked a large village of Sioux and Cheyenne people
under the influence of Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse and other prominent warrior
chiefs. Striking the camp on the afternoon of June 25, 1876 Custer and 209 of his
command were dead two hours later.
In this presentation, we will examine the characters and events that shaped this
epic story. A story that still haunts the American consciousness even today.
