There's no getting around it: the holidays can be stressful. Whether it's your obnoxious third cousin touting political beliefs at the dinner table, or the endless stink of pine candles in every store, there's a little special torture for everyone. The good news? Turn your pain into gold! Writers like David Sedaris, Jeannette Walls, and Anne Lamott have turned stressful situations into insightful, and often hilarious, writing.
Join us Sunday December 8th for an afternoon of artistic journaling and memoir writing with the theme: Surviving Holiday Torture. Artist and educator Holly Janssen, and writer and editor Jenny Sheets, will lead a workshop on using visual and written expression to find humor and joy around the holidays. The messy, fun, artistic, crafted workshop is open to all levels and abilities.
Jenny Sheets has been a writer her entire life. She has written for multiple local and national publications and is working on a collection of place-based essays.
